Meet Mark Kallus of RentLife Property Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Kallus.

Mark, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today?

After building a thriving local Property Management company from scratch for the past 21-years, we decided to venture off and start our own company. With the support of my Fiance, family, and colleagues, my Fiance and I purchased a commercial property, renovated, and got to work. There is nothing more rewarding than owning your own company and determining your future. We are looking forward to a fantastic future!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?

Smoothe road? Not really. First off, our office renovation on our 1950 home far exceeded our original budget. The start-up costs involved in RentLife Property Management were a bit more than expected, and being the new kid on the block has been more of a struggle to pick up new business than anticipated. Slowly we are gaining momentum, and our websites are starting to gain traction. Failure is not an option. Never stop, ever.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the RentLife Property Management story. Tell us more about the business.

RentLife Property Management is a property management company that specializes in single-family homes, townhomes, duplexes, and triplexes. With over 21-years of experience and being real estate investors ourselves, we have first-hand knowledge of what the Investor is thinking and worrying about in regards to his property and making money. We have a Tenant screening process, which is second to none with www.acutraq.com. The proudest moment for our company was when we opened the doors for the first time. It has always been a dream/regret for not doing it. We are a family-owned and operated business that understands the industry and is continuously staying up to date with the latest tenant law changes, Property Code changes, and contract changes. We consider continuing education a key to our success. We are always learning and earning new certifications and designations.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?

Luck is a funny word. I think both good and bad luck mold you into the person that you are. Every experience shapes you, but it is how you respond that matters.
